Scars of Innocence by Luciana Vieira

If I could take back those words

The ones I wispered in your ear

At an impetuous moment

An outburst of genuine trust

Love, passion, undivided admiration

I wouldn't, I couldn't, I wouldn't dare

For you are a scar in my teenage heart

That I never want to see erased

The wound is healed,

But the mark of the tears will never dry up.

I'll keep you alive

In the shadow of that eclipse

Every time I see the sun of innocence fade

I will know that the memory of you is safe behind the moon.

Luciana B. Vieira
